COMPANY Surdell Kennedy Taxi Ltd. has been serving the City of Surrey, the Municipality of Delta and the Vancouver International Airport since 1977. Surdell Taxi Ltd. and Kennedy Taxi (1980) Ltd. merged in 1992 bringing the two companies together under one name. At present Surdell Kennedy Taxi has a fleet of 69 vehicles of which 13 are wheelchair accessible vans and 56 are sedans. All of the vehicles are newer models and under go regular commercial vehicle inspections every six months as well as bi-annual city inspections by the by-law inspectors for the City of Surrey. Our FLEET of 69 vehicles incudes 40 that are authorized to operate at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). All of Surdell Kennedy Taxi vehicles have safety cameras installed as well as data terminal receive trips and two-way radios. We also have an GPS antenna for safety and dispatch purposes and all our vehicles use a Digital Dispatch System used to dispatch trips to the fleet. The drivers at Surdell Kennedy Taxi all have a minimum of Taxi Host Level 1 Training, as required by the City of Surrey By-Law 13610. However, the majority of drivers have completed Taxi Host Level 2 Training and all drivers carry a chauffeur permit. Any driver wishing to drive a Surdell Kennedy Taxi must have a class 4 BC driver license and a chauffeur permit to be be considered for the position of driver. At present Surdell Kennedy Taxi employs over 250 full and part time drivers along with 15 office and dispatch staff.
